This is me at a glance

I am the Lead Consultant/CEO of ThistlePraxis Consulting Limited (TPC), an Assessments and Strategy firm based in Lagos, Nigeria set up to facilitate the development of a more responsible business environment in Nigeria and Africa. As Lead Consultant/CEO, my daily responsibilities includes leading a Faculty of experts on increasing the awareness of CSR as an element of business strategy, as well as encourage discussions of CSR and Sustainability across Africa.

A 2008 Draper Hills Fellow on Democracy and Development at Stanford University California and an alumna of the Harvard Business School Executive Education Program, I hold a degree in International Relations & Diplomacy and a Masters degree in Management. Whilst at Stanford, I led the research team that assessed the Silicon Valley’s CSR projects with visits to Google, Hewlett Packard, Facebook and the San Francisco Bay Municipality. A facilitator/management trainer, I am also an international consultant on Gender, Peace-building, Peace and Security & Governance.

A Sustainability Expert, Trainer, Speaker and Author, I convene the Africa CEO Round-table & Conference on Corporate Sustainability & Responsibility (AR-CSR™) and curate a Thought Leadership Series on Sustainable Development, Sustainable Conversations™. I am also a  Think-tank member of the World Entrepreneurship Forum and member, World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Africa.

Prior to setting up ThistlePraxis Consulting Limited, I served as the Executive Secretary of Women in Management and Business (WIMBIZ), a Nigerian not-for-profit organisation established in 2002, as a platform for increasing the success rate of female entrepreneurs as well as increasing the proportion of women in senior positions in corporate organisations. I had earlier served as the Executive Director, Defence for Children International – Nigeria Section, an international, independent, non-governmental organization upon my return to Nigeria and currently sits on its Board as a Trustee.

As a former consultant with the Women, Gender and Development Directorate of the African Union and the African Centre for Gender & Development within the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), I have been instrumental in developing several management and development tools that build the capacity of ordinary Africans. Also a Think Tank member of the African Business Women Network under the aegis of the Vital Voices Global Partnership, I am a committed gender advocate and I have engaged policymakers at all levels. I am the author of “The Eagle’s Dance” – an inspirational and motivational book; “Break the Alabaster” – a feisty and engaging book on women and their gifting as well as many other training and capacity development modules in my areas of expertise.

A multi-talented team player, researcher, lecturer; I still consult on issues of business development, corporate governance, organizational development, leadership, mentoring, corporate social responsibility and serves as a Volunteer Trainer with Fate Foundation. Owing to my well-rounded experiences, I sit on the Boards of various organisations, lecture at the CSR Centre of the Pan-African University and i am a think tank member of the World Entrepreneurship Forum.
